After trial build one and two of the helix on 20 JAN and 21 JAN 2007, a MAJOR redesign and construction operation is underway. I was not happy with the performance of the helix due to a tight inside radius and steep grade. The helix was close to being acceptable with some compromises. However, I decided that a redesign was needed. But first, here are some pictures of what was done on Sunday, 21 January 2007.

OK, so there are not may photos of any progress on 21 JAN 07. Here is what happened, the helix was tore down and rebuilt up to three levels. This time, Kato Viaduct S-Joiners were used to connect the viaduct track. This improved the durability of the viaduct connections a thousand times over. This is an example as one learns and gains experience as they go. :).
